Interview with Madame Furic, who owns the Yelloh! Village L’Océan Breton campsite

What are some of the highlights in your region? Do you have any tips for tourists visiting the area around the campsite?

Brittany is a fantastic region, packed with culture to explore and home to some truly breathtaking scenery. There are all sorts of unique and authentic towns to visit, lovely walks beside the sea to enjoy, and extraordinary locations to come and see, such as La Pointe du Raz and Les Iles Glénans. This is a varied region with a wide range of different activities.

As you’re bound to know already, the weather in Brittany is nice several times a day. This is why we make it a priority to work closely with the tourist offices of this sector, so as to be able to respond effectively to the demands of holidaymakers and suggest all sorts of different activities suited to different age groups and tastes, as well as to the weather!

We have also established partnerships with all of the major operators in the region. Our holidaymakers will be entitled to discounts with the Yelloh! wristband in all sorts of places, including at the Haliotika fishing centre, as well as for all sorts of watersports activities, trips to the islands, golf and the aquarium. We have varied the pleasures to increase the number of great, unusual and diverse experiences.

What are the best features of your campsite?

The space, and the sea alongside the campsite as the tide comes in and goes out again! The campsite is 12 hectares in size, which makes for lovely pitches as well as open spaces in which holidaymakers can enjoy the peace, do a spot of cycling, have a picnic, use our new sports trail beside the sea or do something else!

We also have a splendid castle on site, which makes the campsite even more delightful. L’Océan Breton is a family-friendly campsite, managed by a family and designed for all families. An area for the very little ones, made-to-measure mobile homes for younger children, a large aquatic park, adventure tree-climbing, a kids’ club of course, bouncy castles, several games areas etc.

Facilities are really perfect for families. And to make sure children really feel like they’re on holiday, we have designed a life-size game as a way for them to discover l’Océan Breton, the children’s paradise. Throughout their holiday and during the activities they enjoy, children can win “Yellits”, which they can then exchange for gifts. A fun way for getting them involved and discovering a lovely part of Brittany.

What new things do you have in store for your campsite?

This year, we have made huge investments, and have extended the aquatic park, which was already 2000 m² in area. A second, covered swimming pool, 200 m² in area, and used as a lap pool, has been created, in addition to the covered swimming pool for relaxation, with a fully refurbished aquatic games area. And let’s not forget the heated outdoor swimming pool and the big waterslide!

We have installed a health trail in the seaside area, a new football area and a cross-country cycling route, plus a new PREMIUM area with Taos mobile homes, and we have also revamped the restaurant and fitness room etc.

The castle, which is the campsite’s crown jewel, has been given a facelift. The tea room which has been set up in it is perfect for people who enjoy relaxing and reading, watching little performances or just chatting beside the fire or on the terrace. A specially fitted treatment room makes for an even more relaxing time.
The idea is to reinvent itself every year, by smartening up the campsite of course, but mainly by providing facilities that customers will find useful, so as to always meet their expectations and make sure their holiday is full of happiness. This is our aim for each new feature.

What is your favourite reminiscence of life in the campsite?

There are so many… But my favourite is seeing people arrive very tired and leaving full of beans and happy.
However, for me the real beauty of the campsite is seeing just how well-knit our team is, and just how ready it is for anything to make sure all holidaymakers enjoy a truly exceptional stay with us.

Thank you. We have noted your opinion.
